Wine Tasting, Private Dinners & Hands-On Experiences in the Heart of Chianti Classico

Guidi 1929 is a fourth-generation family winery nestled in the Chianti Classico hills near San Donato in Poggio — one of Tuscany's most beloved medieval villages, situated exactly halfway between Florence and Siena, and just 25 minutes from San Gimignano. From our vineyards in the Chianti Classico and San Gimignano DOC zones, we produce Chianti Classico DOCG, Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG, and Sangiovese IGT wines across more than 30 hectares of estate vineyards.

Our wine experiences are not tours — they are invitations. Into the cellar, into the vineyard, into the family. Whether you are visiting Tuscany for the first time or returning to deepen your love of Italian wine, each experience at Guidi 1929 is designed to give you something that no wine shop can: a story, a place, and a memory rooted in nearly a century of winemaking.

All experiences are available in English and Italian, by reservation only, and can be tailored for couples, small groups, and corporate visits. We are easily reached from Florence (30 min), Siena (40 min), and San Gimignano (25 min) — the perfect addition to any Tuscany itinerary

Private Wine Tasting in Tuscany

One of the most personal ways to discover Tuscan wine is through a private tasting at Guidi 1929. Guided by a member of the Guidi family or a member of the Staff, you will taste at least five wines from the estate — typically including our Vernaccia di San Gimignano, Chianti Classico DOCG, and selected IGT wines — paired with Tuscan extra virgin olive oil and seasonal snacks. Ideal for: couples, small groups, wine lovers visiting the Chianti or San Gimignano area Duration: approx. 90 minutes Available: year-round, by reservation Languages: English, Italian

GRAPE STOMPING & TASTING

One of Tuscany's most beloved harvest traditions, barefoot grape stomping is joyful, messy, and completely genuine. At Guidi 1929, guests step into the vat exactly as Tuscan farming families did for generations — celebrating the rhythm of the land before bottles and labels ever existed. After the stomp, you'll personalise your own Guidi 1929 bottle to take home, then settle in for a guided tasting of our family wines accompanied by Tuscan bread and extra virgin olive oil.

TRUFFLE HUNT & TASTING

Led by a certified truffle hunter and their dog through countryside near our estate, you will search for one of Italy's most prized ingredients in its natural habitat — no staging, no guarantees, just the real experience.

The hunt is followed by a seated wine tasting of at least five Guidi 1929 labels, chosen to complement the earthy, complex world you've just explored. Truffle hunting combined with a private winery visit is one of the most sought-after experiences in Tuscany — and few offer it in this combination.

COOKING CLASS & TASTING

Learn to make fresh pasta by hand and a traditional Tuscan dessert, then sit down to eat everything you've made — paired with five or more Guidi 1929 wines selected by our winemaker. This is the full arc of a Tuscan meal: the making, the sharing, the tasting.

Led by our chef in the winery kitchen, the class is hands-on throughout and ends with a long, convivial table. One of the most complete cooking experiences available in the Chianti Classico area, combining culinary tradition with estate wine education.

Blend Your Own Wine

Wine is, at its heart, a series of choices. Working alongside our winemaker, you will taste individual grape varietals and barrel samples, then craft your own blend — adjusting ratios, tasting at every step, until the wine in the glass is unmistakably yours. The result is bottled and sealed, labelled with your name, and accompanied by a personalised winemaker's diploma.
